I’ve been in love with astrology for over 30 years – since reading Linda Goodman’s Sun Signs at age 13. After studying on my own and secretly analyzing the charts of everyone I knew, I came out of the closet and started giving readings professionally in 1999.
I’m now honored to pursue my passion for astrology full-time, as a reader, writer and teacher, and in combination with energy medicine. Above all, I work with astrology as a tool for healing, empowerment, personal growth and collective evolution.
A history of childhood health challenges, and success with alternative therapies in my own life, inspired me to study a variety of healing modalities, including herbal medicine, Polarity Therapy, Reiki, flower essences, BodyTalk and Accunect. I combine astrology with energy medicine in my unique Astro-BodyTalk sessions.
In 2008 I served as the in-house astrologer for Tarot.com, which features my astrology reports – Life Purpose, Mars Power and Creativity – and from 2008-2012 as the Chief Staff Astrologer for the website of Jan Spiller. In 2011 I founded the Alcyone School for Engaged Astrology – an intensive apprenticeship program that prepares students to be professional astrologers.
I’m very honored to have a feature article - The Saturn-Neptune Trine: Reclaiming Inner Authority at the End of the Age of Pisces – in the December 2012/January 2013 issue of The Mountain Astrologer. And in January 2013 I published my first book – Creating With the Cosmos: An Astrological Guide to Awakening and Enhancing Creative Power. You can read my current astrology forecasts in New Connexion Magazine: Starscope Astrology Forecasts.
Before surrendering to my passion for astrology, I thought I wanted to be an academic, and graduated Summa Cum Laude with a B.A. in English from Brandeis University, and earned an M.A. in Women’s Studies from Emory University. The New York Open Center and the Esalen Institute provided further (and ultimately more satisfying) “graduate studies” in the fields of spirituality, personal development, and the healing and creative arts.
“Our obligation to survive and flourish is owed not just to ourselves but also to that cosmos ancient and vast from which we spring. We are one species. We are star stuff harvesting star light.” – Carl Sagan

Fantastic step, Emily! I look forward to reading weekly wisdom from you!
Hi Emily, love the blog thank you for all your insights. I’m wondering if there is a way to subscribe via RSS though? As I like to add blogs I read to my reader.
Thanks
Natalie
