When Mercury goes Retrograde -- appears to travel backwards -- we don’t
get to operate in the ways that we’re used to. Life slows down
(unacceptable in our fast-moving world), and our rational minds become
unreliable. Computers, cars and all electronic equipment are more
likely to break down or malfunction. Miscommunications and
misunderstandings add to the stress, frustration and fatigue that are
common Mercury Retro symptoms.
The planets do not conspire to annoy you and thwart your grand plans.
As with every planetary transit, there is a deeper meaning and purpose
behind this time.
Mercury Retro is the Universe’s catch-up
period -- a great time to complete or re-do old projects, and to
reconnect with old friends and loved ones. It is also a time to rest,
relax, retreat, and give your logical mind a break while tuning into
your intuition -- which is more powerful at this time. It’s worth
taking the time now to resolve, heal or complete issues from the past
-- you’ll be able to move ahead much more easily as a result. Follow these guidelines for best results:
DO: • slow down, rest, retreat, reflect, and seek higher and new perspectives • reorganize, reread, rewrite -- basically, all the “re-” words • back up your computer data! • do your research and otherwise prepare for new projects • resolve issues from the past and reconnect with old friends, etc. • allow extra time to get to appointments and double-check details • check in frequently with others to clarify communications • keep your sense of humor and practice patience!
DON’T • initiate new projects • make major purchases -- especially cars or electronics • sign contracts or file law suits • make decisions with long-term consequences • start new relationships or partnerships
